Barb Crabbe, DVM
Practice Owner

barb photoDr. Crabbe is a graduate of UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, and completed an internship in large animal medicine and surgery at Washington State University. She also did graduate work in biomechanics at UC Davis, where she studied patterns of locomotion in exercising horses.

Dr. Crabbe is a contributing editor to Horse and Rider magazine and a frequent contributor and member of the advisory board for Dressage Today magazine. Her articles have won numerous American Horse Publications awards, and in 2007 she saw her book Comprehensive Guide to Equine Veterinary Medicine published by Sterling publishing, a large New York publishing company.barb dressage

She is an avid dressage rider and competitor with several ODS and USDF regional championships on her resume, and is a graduate with distinction from the USDF-L judges program. In addition, she is a former board member of the Northwest Equine Practitioners Association and the Oregon Dressage Society, and currently serves on the breeding technology committee for the American Hanoverian Society. Her particular interests are management of the performance horse in competition, and reproductive technologies including artificial insemination and embryo transfer.

She lives on the PCS farm property with her husband, Bob, a board certified veterinary internist, and two daughters Katie and Jamie. The family is completed by three rescued dogs, 6 horses and 2 ponies.


Jennifer Posey, DVM
Associate Veterinarian

jenprofileDr. Posey is a graduate of Oregon State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She joined PCS in 2004 after spending several years as an associate veterinarian at a busy ambulatory practice on the East Coast.

She is interested in all areas of equine medicine, and is responsible for the dentistry program at PCS. She is an AERC (American Endurance Ride Conference) certified ride veterinarian and is currently on staff for the Foothills of the Cascades ride in Molalla. In addition, she is heading up the efforts here at PCS for creating a disaster management plan for our area.

Dr. Posey grew up in a Western Saddle, and spent her youth actively involved in dr posey riding 4H and barrel racing. Spending her summers in Idaho, she logged numerous hours in the saddle riding in the mountains with her family and friends. While having a personal horse of her own is on the back burner for a while, horses are still a huge part of her family. Dr. Posey rides whenever she has a chance to visit her father’s ranch in Texas.

She currently lives in Molalla with her husband Ben, their daughter Tegan and two dogs Maverick and Shadow.


Amanda Johnson, DVM
Associate Veterinarian


Dr. Amanda Johnson

Dr. Amanda Johnson is a graduate of The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she was the recipient of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons Excellence in Large Animal Surgery award, the OSU Excellence in Equine Emergency and Critical Care award and the OSU Excellence in Public Health award.  She was also the recipient of the American Association of Equine Practitioners and The race for Education Scholarship, and served as Vice President of the student chapter of the AAEP and Alpha Psi professional fraternity.  Dr. Johnson completed and internship in equine surgery and medicine at Oakridge Equine Hospital in Edmond OK before joining PCS in 2011.  Additionally Dr. Johnson completed a Masters of Public Health degree focusing on zoonotic diseases, specifically methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus.

She is interested in all areas of equine medicine, surgery and lameness.  Specifically, she enjoys dentistry, ophthalmology, preventative medicine and biosecurity.  She assists Dr. Posey in rounding out the dentistry program and PCS, and, with her training in preventative health care, is the perfect Dr Amanda Johnsonperson to help you develop a biosecurity program for your farm.

Dr. Johnson grew up showing Paint and Quarter Horses at all around events.  She currently rides whenever she has a chance hat her family farm in Aurora, Oregon.

She lives in Molalla with her fiancée Glenn, and their Australian Shepherds Lucy and Ruby.  It is only a matter of time before she has a herd of personal equines to round out her family.
